Another unforgettable experience in the books.
Last week, 125 entrepreneurs from across the country flew into Portland, Oregon to spend two powerful days with Ben Kinney and Brian Gubernick — learning, brainstorming, and building relationships that will move their businesses and lives forward.
We kicked off Wednesday evening with a private, members-only hike to Pittock Mansion, taking in a panoramic view of downtown Portland. Before each quarterly mastermind event, we put together an experience that is intentionally designed to get our members moving, connecting, and stepping outside their comfort zones before diving into two full days of growth.
On Day 1 of our mastermind event, the focus was relationships: how to deepen trust, create influence, and build connections that compound over time.
We heard from Carly and Rob Toomey, founders of TypeCoach, who broke down personality types and shared frameworks to improve our communication and collaboration.
The afternoon stretched our thinking with a deep dive into The Science of Scaling by Dr. Benjamin Hardy (the group read this book before arriving to Portland) and a challenging exercise around ‘impossible goals’. We realized that most of us still aren’t thinking big enough.
We closed the day with simple, actionable wealth-building strategies that every entrepreneur can implement to secure their financial future.
Then came the magic moment: dinner under a 500-year-old tree at Topaz Farm, a five-course meal prepared by Michelin-starred chefs, surrounded by thoughtful and memorable conversations. This dinner was a truly stellar experience for all of us (and we will dream about that acorn squash for a long time)!
Day 2 opened with a state of the economy session — where Brian unpacked what’s happening right now and how to capitalize on opportunities as business owners and investors.
We kept energy high with a surprise VooDoo Donut break (a Portland icon), followed by a fireside chat with Ashar, founder of Bounti.ai, sharing his entrepreneurial journey and lessons from building AI companies from the ground up.
In the afternoon, our good friend, Chris Suarez, joined us to teach his problem-solving frameworks and mental models, and then Ben wrapped the event with a tactical session on valuing and acquiring businesses, showing us how to find and buy companies that align with your growth strategy.
It was two days of insight, strategy, and connection — and a good reminder that growth is a contact sport. It’s one thing to watch YouTube videos and listen to podcasts, it’s another to be physically in an environment with other top performers who want to get better at business and life.
We can’t wait to do it all again December 11–12 in Scottsdale, Arizona. If you’re serious about scaling your business, building wealth, and surrounding yourself with leaders who play the game at the highest level — this is where you need to be.

- I learned a long time ago if you are the smartest one in the room - you are in the wrong room. I loved the challenge and knowledge we received today at the Metrix Masterminds event. It was hard to hear and extremely uncomfortable but I am so grateful to be aware that in that uncomfortableness growth happens.
