Let’s be real, being a business owner isn’t always exciting. It’s hard freaking work.
There will be seasons when things don’t go your way. A key player might leave. You’ll miss a big revenue target. A deal you were counting on suddenly falls through. And in those moments, it can feel like everything is unraveling.
This is when your brain starts searching for quick fixes — any way out of the discomfort.
You might think:
“Maybe I should just get a normal job.”
“I’d make more money if I got rid of my team and went solo.”
“This just isn’t working anymore.”
But here’s the problem: you’re trying to solve short-term pain with long-term decisions. If I’ve learned anything during my time as an entrepreneur, it’s that panic Is a terrible business strategy.
We’ve all had those moments when the pressure feels unbearable. One setback turns into two, and suddenly it feels like everything is spiraling. It’s like a snowball gaining momentum down a hill — fast and heavy.
At one of our recent Metrix Masterminds events, Ben shared something powerful: Some of his biggest regrets came from decisions made when he was desperate. Instead of slowing down and seeing the full picture, he reacted out of emotion. And emotional decision-making rarely ends well.
When someone in our mastermind community comes to us feeling overwhelmed or hopeless, we never rush them to take action. In fact, we encourage them to wait. To slow down. To sit with the discomfort just long enough to see it clearly. Even if the decision they’re leaning toward turns out to be the right one — it’s always better to make it from a place of clarity, not chaos.
Every entrepreneur in our mastermind has been there — and some are probably in that headspace right now. You’re not alone. This is part of the journey. Ben and I are committed to helping you build the mindset and tools to weather these storms, without making choices you’ll later regret.
Losing hope doesn’t mean you’re failing. It just means you need to slow down, not speed up. The best decisions come from patience, not panic. So next time you feel overwhelmed, take a breath, step back, and wait for clarity.
